E-Rate Process

1.

Start by determining eligibility. The USAC website provides an Eligible Services List (ESL) for each funding year. Click here to view.

2.

Create a profile and login information on the E-Rate Productivity Center (EPC).

3.

Complete the FCC Form 470 application online.

The USAC requirement is to wait 28 days after posting the form before closing the bidding process and selecting a provider.

4.

Review all bids and proposals received, including those from Trustec Systems Inc., and select a service provider. We hope you'll choose us!

5.

Submit FCC Form 471 informing USAC which service provider you have selected and the cost of the goods and services.

The FCC Form 471 must be filed during a specific application window each year. In general, the application filing window opens about six months before the start of the funding year and is open for about two and a half months. (Please check USAC website for exact deadlines.)

6.

USAC will issue a Funding Commitment Decision Letter (FCDL) to applicants and providers once a decision is made.

7.

Establish a service start date once the service begins. Participant must file FCC form 486 notifying USAC that the service has started.

8.

USAC will confirm receipt of Form 486 by issuing Form 486 notification letter.

9.

Participant pays the provider in full within payment terms and requests reimbursement for the discount online direct from USAC using the FCC BEAR Form-472 (Billed Entity Applicant Reimbursement).

10.

Enjoy affordable access to high connectivity at your school or library.
